about

Having just released new music, I have found it weird and jarring to wave the new music flag and celebrate from the comforts of my life here whilst witnessing from afar the catastrophic loss of so many beautiful lives in Gaza. Sharing music is sharing love and creativity, which I do believe spreads the right energy outwards in times of hardship. I have just released a cover of In The Bleak Midwinter. The message for me is clear - when all else fails, you can always give your heart, give compassion. It is heartbreaking to hear of so many people losing sight of this in recent events.

I’d like to use this release to raise some money for neutral NGO Doctors Without Borders (MSF) - and contribute towards their incredible work providing medical assistance to those affected by conflict, epidemics and disasters. Please give as much as you can afford to if you have enjoyed streaming the track. As important as spreading compassion is at the moment, so is donating to the right organisations that can offer their support directly to those being affected. Thanks for all your wonderful loving support and for directing it to this unbelievably worthwhile cause.

lyrics

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone
Snow had fallen, snow on snow on snow
In the bleak midwinter, long long ago

Angels and archangels may have gathered there
Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air
but his mother only in her maiden bliss
worshipped the beloved with a kiss

What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would give a lamb
If I were a wiseman, I would do my part
but what can I give him? Give my heart.

My heart, my heart
but what can I give him?
Give my heart, my heart.
